Of obesity and obesity-related diseases (type 2 diabetes, diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, metabolic syndrome, fatty liver, defined by the world health organization (WHO) as the most important epidemic of our time, the incidence of insulin resistance v.b) is increasing. Obesity alone is a disease that shortens the life span, but it also reduces the quality of life with type 2 diabetes (diabetes mellitus), hypertension, heart and lung problems. Obesity causes cardiovascular diseases as well as other important diseases such as cancer and infertility (infertility).
Surgery for obesity and surgery for diabetes (metabolic surgery), known as tube stomach surgery, (medical reduction surgery known as gastric bypass), gastric bypass (gastric bypass), transit bipartition, duodenal switch, duodenal switch, operations such as gastric balloon are performed in our General Surgery Department.
What Obesity Is ?
Obesity can simply be described as abnormal and excessive fat accumulation in the body. Another definition is that body fat tissue is 25% more in men than 30% in women. As one of the inherited, environmental, and cultural factors can be effective in the formation of obesity, all of these causes can coexist.
Obesity Measurement
Body Mass Index (Body Mass Index-BMI) is used to detect obesity levels. The Body Mass Index is the value of the person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of the neck in meters.
